Cell C, Huawei ink digital transformation deal
Cell C Business and Huawei Cloud have entered into a renewed collaboration to strengthen cloud, digital infrastructure and industry-specific solutions,
A new memorandum of understanding (MoU) marks an important evolution in the parties’ relationship, building on a 20-year strategic partnership between the two organisations across both Carrier and Consumer Business Groups.
Through a combination of Cell C’s network coverage, enterprise reach and channel strength and Huawei’s enterprise and cloud capabilities, the partnership will bring integrated information and communication technology (ICT) and digital solutions to market that are designed to drive impact and inclusion.
The MoU extends beyond connectivity, with a focus now on cloud, to include rapid deployment of innovative, industry relevant digital solutions that address national priorities such as digital healthcare, education modernisation and smart government transformation.
“This partnership represents a significant milestone in Cell C Business’s journey to reimagine our role in the market. We are moving decisively beyond connectivity, co-creating solutions that make a real difference in sectors like healthcare, education and enterprise operations. Together with Huawei, we are delivering high-performance, future-ready solutions for business and government,” said Cell C sales, distribution and regions CEO Chris Lazarus.
Aligned to Cell C Business Smart Partnerships strategy, it will deliver end-to-end digital solutions that empower government, corporates and small and medium-sized enterprises to operate more efficiently in an increasingly data-driven economy.
Key solutions within the ecosystem include TechNov8 M-Health: mobile health solutions that enable government to reach remote communities, and improve patient access and outcomes through secure, real-time digital platforms.
Mobile health services connect remote patients with healthcare providers through secure, low latency connectivity and data-driven health applications.
It further includes Xcallibre Digital Workflow Solutions, which is an enterprise grade workflow and automation suite that simplifies processes, enhances productivity and improves service delivery in both business and government environments.
These solutions form part of Cell C Business’s growing innovation partner ecosystem, which combines local ingenuity with global technology partnerships to meet the evolving needs of South Africa’s digital economy.
“Our collaboration with Cell C Business combines Huawei’s world-class enterprise and cloud infrastructure with Cell C Business’s local insight and partner innovation ecosystem. From M-Health to extended reality and smart workflows, our shared goal is to accelerate digital transformation that benefits industries and communities alike,” added Huawei Cloud South Africa MD Steven Chen.
Backed by Huawei’s global expertise in enterprise ICT and data centre infrastructure, the partnership ensures that all solutions are secure, reliable and locally hosted.
Huawei’s enterprise technology stack, spanning cloud, networking, storage, AI and intelligent computing, provides the backbone for high-performance, scalable solutions capable of supporting mission critical applications across industries.
Huawei Cloud’s strong local presence, including three data centres in South Africa and a dedicated technical team, guarantees that clients benefit from global standards delivered with local responsiveness and support.
The partnership also supports South Africa’s National Development Plan by promoting digital inclusion, local innovation and economic growth through technology-led empowerment and sustainable development.
